Marie started playing the violin at the late age of 9 and soon discovered her passion for music. She progressed to Grade 8 standard within 5 years, under the direction of Rhiannon Davies of Cardiff.
Her education and performances earned her a place at Bretton Hall College, University of Leeds, where she graduated with honours. She studied music performance with Dr Clive Brown and violin with Duncan Druce. An integral part of the course was solo work.
Marie plays with several orchestras, leading both Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra and The Film Orchestra. She also performs in many ensembles, as a soloist for concerts, musicals, charity events, weddings and other special occasions and has written and recorded backing music for local composers and musicians.
Marie works full time as a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager and holds two Masters degrees in HSE Management and Ergonomics. She is currently researching the causes of player-related musculoskeletal disorders and how to prevent them.
